The Astronomy Research Laboratory is part of the Department of Physics and Materials Science, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University. We are the home of Thailand’s first Regional Observatory, Sirindhorn Observatory, Chiang Mai University. Our city, Chiang Mai, is so-called the Capital City of Thailand Astronomy as the National Astronomical Research Institute (NARIT) has a headquarter and the National Astronomical Observatory is situated here.
Our faculties carry out active research programs from cosmic rays to the large scale structure of the Universe. Our projects collaborate with many Thai and International Institutes; bring us to the world’s best environment to study the Universe.
We aim to produce outstanding research students for international astronomical society. Research students participate in a variety of research projects and experiencing in state-of-the-art astronomical technology. Those who are interested to join our team can apply either in graduate program in Astronomy or other related program.
